A few things before you begin.
Formats, importing, offline reading, and keeping your books safe.
Which formats can I import?
TXT, DRM-free EPUB, and ZIP bundles containing these files. DRM-protected EPUB files are not supported.
How do I import my books?
Use Transfer → Import from Files, the system share sheet, or Wi-Fi transfer from a computer on the same trusted local network. Read the import guide.
Can I read offline?
Yes, once your files are saved on the device. Cloud downloads, iCloud, web search, and email require their respective network or system services.
Is there an online library?
No. Bring your own book files. The app provides no online library or book downloads; the initial shelf only includes its user guide.
How do I back up or move to another device?
You can export a local backup or choose to enable iCloud features. iCloud requires your Apple Account, iCloud Drive, and available network and system services. Check completion and keep usable originals. Vault books are excluded from ordinary sync and backup; take them out and back them up separately before migration.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
Yes: iOS 17.0+ on iPhone and iPadOS 17.0+ on iPad. Wide iPad layouts support two-page reading, depending on window size and settings. Allow iCloud transfers to finish before switching devices.
Does App Lock encrypt the whole library?
No. App Lock controls access; the separate local Vault encrypts its books and reading data. See the privacy policy for the full scope.
Does speech continue in the background?
According to the current guide, speech pauses when the app goes into the background or the screen locks, and stops when you return to the shelf. Available Chinese voices depend on installed system resources.
